## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 11/06/2024 AT 1241 EST, N522VS, A CESSNA 172, HAD MINOR DAMAGE WHEN IT WAS INVOLVED IN AN INCIDENT AT THE WILMINGTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (ILM). THERE WAS ONE CERTIFIED FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR ON BOARD IN THE LEFT SEAT AND A COMMERCIAL PILOT IN THE RIGHT SEAT. THE PILOT IN THE RIGHT SEAT WAS FLYING DURING AN INSTRUCTIONAL FLIGHT AND LOST CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT RESULTING IN THE TAIL STRIKING THE RUNWAY. THERE WERE NO REPORTED INJURIES. THE FINDINGS CONCLUDED THAT THERE WERE NO MECHANICAL IRREGULARITIES WITH THE AIRCRAFT. THE DAMAGE WAS LIMITED TO THE AIRCRAFT'S SKIN AND DID NOT CAUSE STRUCTURAL DAMAGE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
