## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT WAS PROVIDING FLIGHT TRAINING WHEN INFLIGHT THE AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED A TOTAL LOSS OF ENGINE POWER. THE PILOT DECLARED AN EMERGENCY, TOOK CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT FROM THE STUDENT AND PROCEEDED TO LAND THE AIRCRAFT AT THE CLOSEST AIRFIELD. THE AIRCRAFT OVERRAN THE GRASS RUNWAY INTO A WHEAT FIELD. THE MAIN AIRCRAFT TIRES SANK INTO THE SOFT SOIL, CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT NOSE TO TILT DOWNWARD AND DAMAGE THE PROPELLER.

THE AIRCRAFT OWNING ENTITY IS WORKING WITH PRATT AND WHITNEY ON THE CASE OF THE ENGINE FAILURE AND WILL UPDATE FAA WITH THE RESULTS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
