## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING TAKEOFF PILOT EXPERIENCED LOSS OF POWER IN THE LEFT ENGINE. DUE TO LOW ALTITUDE PILOTS CONDUCTED AN EMERGENCY LANDING IN A FIELD JUST TO THE LEFT OF THE RUNWAY. AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN AND PROCEEDED 50 TO 75 YARDS BEFORE THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED. DAMAGE INCLUDED PROP STRIKES ON BOTH PROPELLERS AND DAMAGE TO THE NOSE OF THE AIRCRAFT. LATER AN INSPECTION OF THE ENGINE WAS PERFORMED BUT NO CAUSE COULD BE DETERMINED AT THE TIME OF THE INSPECTION.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN25LA042](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN25LA042), Nov 15, 2024: Piper PA-23-160 (N4143P), Manvel, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: A loss of left engine power during the initial climb due to restricted fuel flow as a result of a binding fuel control cable.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
