## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE CRASH SITE WAS APPROXIMATLY 1600 FEET SHORT OF RUNWAY 15 AT THE KOZS AIRPORT. THE AIRCRAFT WAS FOUND LODGED IN A TREE IN A NOSE DOWN POSITION AT AN APPROXIMATELY 330 DEGREE HEADING. WITNESS MARKS IN THE TREES AROUND THE AIRCRAFT WERE CONSISTANT WITH A HEADING OF APPROXIMATLY 015 DEGREES BEFORE THE FINAL IMPACT. THE NOSE OF THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED THE GROUND AND THE TAIL, STILL INTACT WITH THE FUSELAGE, WAS CAUGHT IN THE TOP OF THE TREE. THE FUEL TANKS WERE PARTIALLY BREACHED WITH ONLY TRACES OF FUEL PRESENT. THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE OF FUEL LEAKAGE . THE CARBURETOR AND FUEL STRAINER WERE NOT ACCESSIBLE. THE ENGINE, ENGINE COMPONENTS AND AIRFRAME ALL HAD SIGNIFICANT CORROSION ON THEIR SURFACES AND EVIDENCE OF RODENT NESTS THROUGHOUT. THE MIXTURE CONTROL WAS FOUND JAMMED IN THE FULL RICH POSITION.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN25LA049](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN25LA049), Nov 24, 2024: Piper PA-28-140 (N6575W), Camdenton, MO, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s poor flight planning which resulted in a loss of engine power due to fuel exhaustion.
