## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PIC WAS PERFORMING A FAST TAXI WITH THE INTENTION OF CONDUCTING A CHECK OF THE AIRSPEED INDICATOR APPROXIMATELY 40 KNOTS. A GUST OF WIND MADE THE AIRCRAFT TAKE FLIGHT. THE PIC WAS UNABLE TO GAIN CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT AND ENTERED A TURN TO THE RIGHT AND CRASHED JUST OFF THE AIRFIELD. THE AIRCRAFT CONTROL WERE INTACT WITH NO MECHANICAL ISSUES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN25LA062](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN25LA062), Dec 15, 2024: Capella FW1C50 (N556CF), Ozark, MO, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain aircraft control during high-speed taxi.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
