## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT IN COMMAND HAD A LESSON SCHEDULED BUT NEEDED TO TAXI TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE FIELD FOR FUEL BEFOREHAND.

DURING THE START PROCEDURE, THE PILOT LEFT THE THROTTLE IN THE FULL IN/FULL POWER POSITION. AS A RESULT, WHEN THE PLANE STARTED, THE PILOT LOST CONTROL OF THE PLANE, WHICH RESULTED IN A HIGH SPEED TAXI, EVENTUALLY RUNNING INTO A HANGAR.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN25LA072](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN25LA072), Jan 8, 2025: Cessna 182H (N1935V), Harvard, IL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to control the airplane during the engine start which resulted in a collision with the hangar.

## Other reports on N1935V (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19811222088689I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19811222088689I), Dec 22, 1981: Cessna 182H (N1935V), Dixon, IL. Pilot hand propped engine to lubricate. Master switch off, ignition switch on. Engine fired. Prop hit pilots leg.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
