## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON OR ABOUT 01/22/2025 INSPECTORS WERE CALLED TO GRAND RAPIDS AIRPORT TO INVESTIGATE A NOSE GEAR UP LANDING OF A PC-12 AIRCRAFT. INSPECTORS WERE ABLE TO MAKE A PRELIMINARY ASSESSMENT OF THE AIRCRAFT AND DETERMINED THE EVENT TO BE AN INCIDENT VERSES AN ACCIDENT.

INSPECTOR INTERVIEWED THE PILOT TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE INCIDENT. DURING THE PILOTS EXPLANATION IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE PILOT WAS DISTRACTED FROM THE NORMAL PRE-FLIGHT AND HAD LEFT THE TOW BAR ATTACHED TO THE AIRCRAFT. THE ERROR WAS DISCOVERED UPON GEAR RETRACTION. ON LANDING AT GRAND RAPIDS AIRPORT THE PILOT SECURED THE ENGINE PRIOR TO TOUCHDOWN TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE AND VERY GENTLY ALLOWED THE NOSE TO SETTLE TO THE RUNWAY. NO APPARENT DAMAGE WAS DONE TO THE ENGINE OR AIRFRAME

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
