## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT TOOK OFF FROM TWIN FALLS MUNICIPAL AIRPORT (KTWF) RUNWAY 08. AIRCRAFT WAS CLIMBING OUT AT 1000 FT AGL, WHEN THE ENGINE RPM BEGAN TO DROP 200 / 300 RPM AND PERFORMANCE WAS DEGRADING. PILOT REPORTED HE ADJUSTED MIXTURE AND NO CHANGE IN PERFORMANCE WAS NOTICED. PILOT REPORTED HE TURNED BACK TO THE TWIN FALLS AIRPORT AS HE WAS 3 MILES OUT AND THE PERFORMANCE WAS DEGRADING FURTHER AND AIRCRAFT WAS NOT MAINTAINING ALTITUDE. PILOT REPORTED HE STARTED THE EMERGENCY CHECK LIST FOR LANDING. PILOT REPORTED THE AIRCRAFT WAS NOT GOING TO MAKE THE AIRPORT SO AN OFF-FIELD SITE WAS CHOSEN AND AIRCRAFT MADE A SUCCESSFUL GEAR UP LANDING WITH NO INJURIES REPORTED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
