## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT LANDED CROSSWIND IN GUSTY WEATHER.

DURING DOWNWIND TO RWY 27, WINDSOCK WAS VARIABLE, BASICALLY FROM THE NORTH. ON APPROACH, AT ABOUT 500 FEET ALTITUDE, THE WINDSOCK SHOWED NORTH GUSTY FLAGGING. AFTER TOUCHDOWN, THE WIND WAS MORE FROM THE NORTHEAST AND PUSHED THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE RUDDER AND RIGHT REAR FUSELAGE. PILOT PUSHED THE LEFT RUDDER PEDAL VIGOROUSLY. AT THE SAME TIME, WINDS SEEM TO BE PUSHING THE AIRCRAFT’S SPEED.

MORE THAN HALFWAY DOWN THE RWY, PILOT THOUGHT A GO AROUND IS UNWISE IN VIEW OF THE TALL TREES RIGHT IN LINE AND NOT FAR FROM RWY END. WITH A BILATERAL BRAKE PRESS, PILOT PUSHED THE LEFT PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR BUT A/C DID NOT SLOW DOWN ENOUGH. A/C VEERED TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE RWY AT A 45-DEGREE ANGLE, SKIDDED THROUGH GULLY AND MARSHY GRASS.

BOTH PROPELLERS AND THE NOSE LANDING GEAR DOORS WERE DAMAGED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
