## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT WAS PERFORMING TOUCH AND GO AT HYI.

PILOT STATED TO FAA INSPECTOR AN AIRCRAFT WAS AHEAD OF HIM PERFORMING A TOUCH AND GO. PILOT STATED THAT HE WAS MAKING SURE THERE WAS ENOUGH TIME AND DISTANCE BETWEEN THEM.

PILOT STATED HE GOT DISTRACTED AND FOCUSED ON HAVING ENOUGH SEPARATION ON LANDING APPROACH, PILOT STATED HE FORGOT TO PLACE THE LANDING GEAR IN THE DOWN POSITION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
