## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT HAS OVER 28 YEARS OF ACCIDENT AND INCIDENT FREE EMPLOYMENT AT THE CARRIER. TAXIING TO THE RUNWAY WAS UNEVENTFUL UNTIL HE SAW THE BARRICADE AT THE LAST MINUTE. ACTIONS TO STOP BEFORE CONTACT WITH THE BARRIER WERE TOO LATE AND THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK THE BARRICADE WITH THE TIPS OF THE PROPS. PILOT REVERSED TAXI USING BETA (REVERSE) ON AN ACTIVE TAXIWAY WITH NO SPOTTERS, AND CONTINUED TO THE HOLD SHORT LINE OF THE ACTIVE RUNWAY. PILOT STATED HE "HEARD A THUMP", CHECKED HIS ENGINE INSTRUMENTS FOR ANYTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY, AND ELECTED TO CONTINUE THE FLIGHT AND DEPARTED FLL FOR MTH. AT MTH, PILOT WAS NOTIFIED TO CALL THE FAA, ALSO CALLED THE COMPANY, DID A POST FLIGHT EXTERIOR INSPECTION AND DISCOVERED THE DAMAGE TO THE TIPS OF THE PROPS. AIRCRAFT REMOVED FROM SERVICE FOR INSPECTION - PILOT REMOVED FROM LINE FLYING PENDING INVESTIGATION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
