## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

MADE A NORMAL 3 POINT LANDING. AS AIRCRAFT SLOWED, THE RIGHT WING CAME UP AND THE STEARMAN BEGAN TO WEATHER VANE TO THE RIGHT. AS IT DID, THE LEFT WING CONTACTED THE RUNWAY. AIRCRAFT NEVER LEFT THE RUNWAY SURFACE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA25LA192](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA25LA192), Mar 28, 2025: Boeing A75N1(PT17) (N65011), Fort Myers, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control of the airplane while landing in gusting crosswind conditions, which resulted in the left wing impacting the runway.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
