## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ARRIVING AT BOZEMAN SHORT FINAL RUNWAY 12, APPROXIMATELY 900 FEET ABOVE THE GROUND THE CAPTAIN SAW A BIRD AHEAD AND STATED THIS TO THE FIRST OFFICER. FIRST OFFICER HAD THE AUTOPILOT OFF AND MANEUVERED THE AIRCRAFT, HOWEVER ENDED UP HITTING THE BIRD IN FLIGHT. THE CAPTAIN BELIEVED IT WAS A HAWK OR SIMILAR SIZE BIRD. THE CAPTAIN INFORMED THE TOWER AND CONTINUED TO A NORMAL LANDING. AT THE GATE, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE LEFT SIDE WING FLAP WAS DAMAGED. LEFT SIDE OUTBOARD FLAP ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED AS A RESULT OF THIS INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
