## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING LANDING, AND IMMEDIATELY UPON TOUCHDOWN, AIRCRAFT BEGAN TO DRIFT LEFT ON RUNWAY. PILOT WAS UNABLE TO COUNTERACT THE DRIFT WITH EITHER FLIGHT CONTROL INPUTS OR BRAKING, DUE TO GLARE ICE CONDITIONS ON THE RUNWAY SURFACE. THE AIRCRAFT SLID OFF OF THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY AND DOWN A SNOW-COVERED EMBANKMENT. THE NOSE OF THE AIRCRAFT DUG INTO THE DEEP SNOW ON THE EMBANKMENT, CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO NOSE OVER AND FLIP ONTO ITS BACK. AFTER COMING TO REST INVERTED, THE AIRCRAFT SLID FURTHER DOWN THE EMBANKMENT BEFORE COMING TO A STOP.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ANC25LA029](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ANC25LA029), Mar 29, 2025: Cessna 172N (N733KV), Manley Hot Springs, AK, substantial damage. Probable cause: The student pilot’s failure to maintain directional control during the landing roll on a snow and ice-covered runway, which resulted in a runway excursion and subsequent nose over.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
