## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 04/06/2025, AN EXPERIENCED JUMPER WITH OVER 219 PREVIOUS SOLO JUMPS WAS MAKING A SOLO JUMP FROM A CESSNA CARAVAN AIRCRAFT OVER THE CANYONLANDS REGIONAL AIRPORT (CNY) IN MOAB, UTAH. THE PARACHUTE OPERATOR EXITED THE AIRCRAFT IN A NORMAL FREEFALL. AT APPROXIMATELY 3,700 FEET AGL THE PARACHUTE OPERATOR DEPLOYED HIS PARACHUTE. OBSERVERS ON THE GROUND NOTED THAT THE PARACHUTE DEPLOYED NORMALLY AND THAT THE PARACHUTE OPERATOR HAD A FLYABLE AND CONTROLLABLE PARACHUTE. GROUND OBSERVERS NOTED THAT JUST PRIOR TO LANDING, THE PARACHUTE OPERATOR INITIATED A SHARP RIGHT TURN BUT FAILED TO FLARE THE PARACHUTE BEFORE HITTING THE GROUND AT A HIGHER-THAN-NORMAL DESCENT RATE. THE PARACHUTE OPERATOR DIED FROM THE IMPACT.

## NTSB investigation

None matched to this report by aircraft and date. Search the NTSB's own records: https://data.ntsb.gov/carol-main-public/basic-search

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
