## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

A TWIN ENGINE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED HPN AT 1134 AND HAD A PLANNED DESTINATION AT 1B1. ACCORDING TO FAA ATC AND ADSB DATA, AT 1157 THE PILOT ADVISED THE CONTROLLED THAT HE WAS ON A MISSED APPROACH AND REQUESTED VECTORS FOR ANOTHER APPROACH. THE PILOT ACKNOWLEDGED VECTORS RECEIVED AT 1159, 1200, AND 1202. AT 12:03 ATC ADVISED THE PILOT OF A LOW ALTITUDE ALERT AND TO CHECK HIS ALTITUDE IMMEDIATELY AND RADAR CONTACT WAS LOST SHORTLY AFTER. REVIEWED CAMERA FOOTAGE FROM A NEARBY SCHOOL AND IT SHOWED THE AIRCRAFT DESCENDING AT A STEEP ANGLE EMERGING FROM A LOW OVERCAST LAYER AND THEN IMPACTING THE SNOW-COVERED TERRAIN. ACCORDING TO THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE THE WEATHER REPORTED OCCASIONAL MODERATE ICING CONDITIONS FROM ABOUT 1500 FT TO 17000 FT MSL. THE PILOT AND FIVE PASSANGERS WERE FATALLY INJURED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
