## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT WAS PERFORMING A PERSONAL PROFICIENCY FLIGHT WITHIN THE FULLERTON AIRPORT TRAFFIC PATTERN. THE PILOT ELECTED TO PRACTICE A 180° POWER-OFF APPROACH AND LANDING. THE PILOT CONTACTED THE TOWER REQUESTING A SHORT APPROACH TO RUNWAY 24 AND WAS CLEARED TO LAND. THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN THREE-QUARTERS DOWN RUNWAY 24 AROUND TAXI EXIT ECHO AT A HIGHER THAN NORMAL SPEED ON A 3,121 FEET RUNWAY. THE PILOT WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE AIRCRAFT WITHIN THE AVAILABLE RUNWAY LENGTH AND SKIDDED OFF THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST ON A GRASSY AREA BEYOND THE RUNWAY AND SHEARED OFF THE NOSE LANDING GEAR, BROKE OFF 1 OF 3 PROPELLER BLADES, DAMAGED THE LOWER COWLING, AND BUCKLED THE LOWER PORTION OF THE FIREWALL. THE PILOT AND PASSENGER WERE ABLE TO EXIT THE AIRCRAFT WITH NO ASSISTANCE WITH MINOR INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR25LA157](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR25LA157), Apr 25, 2025: Cirrus Design SR22T (N415DG), Fullerton, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to attain a proper touchdown point, which resulted in a runway overrun and collision with terrain.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
