## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT WAS DISTRACTED WHEN THE CONTROLLER INSTRUCTED HIM TO TURN 20 DEGREES RIGHT TO AVOID TRAFFIC. THE PILOT RETRACTED THE LANDING GEAR AFTER FLYING OUTBOUND FOR 2-3 MINUTES. THE PILOT WAS THEN INSTRUCTED TO TURN BACK AND ENTER A RIGHT BASE FOR RUNWAY 23. THE PILOT WAS THEN CLEARED TO LAND AND DID NOT USE THE LANDING CHECKLIST. HE DID NOT PUT THE GEAR HANDLE DOWN, CHECK FOR THREE GREEN LIGHTS, LOOK IN THE MIRROR FOR THE GEAR, OR ENSURE THE GEAR UNSAFE LIGHT AND HORN WERE EXTINGUISHED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
