## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON MAY 17, 2025, A BEECHCRAFT, MODEL 95-55 (T42A) DEPARTED KBJC ROCKY MOUNTAIN METROPOLITAN AIRPORT. SHORTLY AFTER TAKEOFF, THE PILOT RADIOED THAT THEY HAD A "DOOR POP" AND REQUESTED TO RETURN TO LAND.

LC1 CONTROLLER INSTRUCTED A/C TO ENTER RIGHT TRAFFIC TO RUNWAY 30R. PILOT DID NOT RESPOND. LC1 CONTROLLER OBSERVED THE A/C FLYING AT A LOW ALTITUDE AND ASKED IF THEY COULD CLIMB. PILOT AGAIN STATED THE NEED TO RETURN DUE TO THE OPEN DOOR AND STATED THEY WERE HAVING DIFFICULTY HEARING THE TOWER.

THE A/C STARTED A CONTINUOUS SLOW DESCENT WITH THE LANDING GEAR EXTENDED ENTERING A LEFT BANK THAT INCREASED IN ROLL RATE UNTIL THE A/C WAS IN A LEFT WING DOWN AND NOSE LOW DIVE. THE AIRCRAFT CRASHED IN A FIELD APPROX. 1.5 MILES NORTH OF RUNWAY 30R IMPACTING THE TERRAIN IN AN ESTIMATED 90 DEGREE LEFT BANK AND NOSE DOWN ATTITUDE. THERE WAS A POST-ACCIDENT FIRE AND TWO FATALITIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
