## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

INVESTIGATION REVEALED CAPTAIN ABORTED TAKEOFF (HIGH SPEED) DUE TO VISIBLE BIRD STRIKE AND SUBSEQUENT DEGRADATION OF THE NUMBER TWO ENGINE. ABORTED TAKEOFF WAS EXECUTED AT APPROXIMATELY 120 KTS, BUT BELOW THE CALCULATED V1 SPEED. DISPATCH PHONE REPORTS AND ATC TOWER TAPES, CONFIRMS THAT AN EMERGENCY WAS NOT DECLARED, HOWEVER DUE TO UNDERSTANDABLY HIGH BRAKE TEMPS (~500F) THE CAPTAIN REQUESTED ARFF SUPPORT TO MONITOR THE HOT BRAKE SITUATION. THE AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO THE GATE UNDER ITS OWN POWER AND DEPLANED PASSENGERS NORMALLY WITHOUT INCIDENT. FOLLOW ON INSPECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT BY MAINTENANCE, CONFIRMED BIRD STRIKE DAMAGE TO THE NUMBER TWO (RIGHT) ENGINE FAN BLADES. NO DEVIATION OR VIOLATION OF CFRS OR CH PROCEDURES WAS DISCOVERED. NO FURTHER ACTION IS REQUIRED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
