## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

APPROACHING KTUL, A "GUMPS" CHECK WAS PERFORMED, ENSURING FUEL, LANDING GEAR, MIXTURE, PROPELLER, AND SEATBELTS WERE IN ORDER. UPON DESCENT, THE ENGINE CUT OUT TWICE AFTER REDUCING THROTTLE SLIGHTLY. DESPITE REGAINING POWER BRIEFLY, THE PLANE LOST ALTITUDE. ATTEMPTS TO SWITCH FUEL TANKS DID NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE, AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS UNABLE TO REACH THE RUNWAY. FORCED TO MAKE AN OFF-FIELD LANDING, THE AIRCRAFT CLEARED A TREE LINE BUT COLLIDED WITH A POWER LINE, CAUSING A VIOLENT DESCENT. THE RIGHT WING STRUCK A FIRE HYDRANT UPON TOUCHDOWN, SEVERING THE WING SPAR.

AIRCRAFT INITIAL IMPACT WAS LOW ANGLE (APPROX.16 DEG.) AIRCRAFT SLID APPROX. 210 FT AFTER AND CAME TO REST IN A FIELD FACING AT A HEADING OF 090, APPROX. 1.5 MILES SOUTHEAST OF RUNWAY 36L.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
