## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JUNE 10, 2025, AT APPROXIMATELY 14:23 LOCAL TIME, AN ATP-LICENSED PILOT VEERED OFF RUNWAY 25 WHILE LANDING AN AMATEUR-BUILT RV-14 AIRCRAFT AT AIRPORT 1W1 (GROVE FIELD) IN CAMAS, WASHINGTON. THE PILOT WAS RETURNING FROM KORS UNDER VISUAL FLIGHT RULES (VFR) IN EXCELLENT WEATHER CONDITIONS, WITH LIGHT WINDS FROM THE NORTHWEST. THE PILOT STATED THAT AFTER EXECUTING A STANDARD TRAFFIC PATTERN, THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN ON RUNWAY 25 JUST BEYOND THE DISPLACED THRESHOLD, AND SHORTLY AFTER TOUCHDOWN, A WIND GUST FROM THE RIGHT CAUSED THE RIGHT WING TO COME UP AND THE AIRCRAFT TO VEER LEFT, WITH THE LEFT MAIN GEAR BRIEFLY LEAVING THE PAVED SURFACE. THE PILOT FURTHER STATED THAT CORRECTIVE ACTIONS USING THE AILERON AND RUDDER RESULTED IN THE AIRCRAFT VEERING RIGHT AND SKIDDING SIDEWAYS TO THE LEFT, EVENTUALLY EXITING THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY AND CROSSING THE PARALLEL TAXIWAY. UPON EXITING THE TAXIWAY, THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED, CAUSING THE NOSE TO DROP AND THE PROPELLER TO STRIKE THE GRASS, STOPPING THE ENGINE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ANC25LA047](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ANC25LA047), Jun 10, 2025: Brian Peck RV-14 (N991RS), Camas, WA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control during landing roll which resulted in a runway excursion.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
