## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT EXPERIENCED LOSS OF ENGINE POWER WHILE CLIMBING AT 7000 FEET. WHEN THE PILOT DETERMINED THEY WOULD NOT BE CAPABLE OF REACHING THE CLOSEST AIRPORT, A FIELD WAS IDENTIFIED AS LANDING LOCATION TO BE ATTEMPTED. ONCE OVER THE FIELD, PILOT PULLED AIRCRAFT PARACHUTE AND DRIFTED BACK INTO TREE LINE. AIRCRAFT SETTLED IN WOODED AREA, PILOT EVACUATED AIRCRAFT WITH NO INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA25LA227](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA25LA227), Jun 12, 2025: Cirrus Design SR22 (N312DA), Hartsville, TN, substantial damage, investigation ongoing

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
