## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE EVENT TOOK PLACE BETWEEN 1700-1900 PCT ON JUNE 14, 2025. THE PILOT WAS ACTING AS A CFI WITH A NEW PILOT WHILE TEACHING HOW TO LAND. UPON DOING PATTERN WORK AT KLVK, A BIRD WAS HIT UPON LANDING. THE AIRCRAFT WAS ALREADY IN GROUND EFFECT AT APPROXIMATELY 20-30 FEET ABOVE THE GROUND AT APPROXIMATELY 60-65 KNOTS. AS THEY WERE ABOUT TO TOUCHDOWN THE PILOT SPOTTED A SMALL BIRD HEADING AT THE AIRCRAFT IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION, ALIGNED WITH THE PROPELLER. AS THE PILOT MADE A SLIGHT LEFT TURN, THE BIRD THEN HIT THE LEADING EDGE OF THE RIGHT WING. THE PILOT DECIDED TO DO A GO-AROUND AND REPORTED THE STRIKE TO ATC. AFTER THE GO-AROUND THE PILOT LANDED THE PLANE AND CAME TO A FULL STOP. THE PILOT STATES THAT THE DENT WAS APPROXIMATELY 2.5" IN DIAMETER AND NO INJURIES.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
