## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRCRAFT WAS BEING OPERATED UNDER DUAL INSTRUCTION BY A STUDENT PILOT (SP) WITH AN INSTRUCTOR PILOT (IP) ON BOARD. DURING THE SECOND LANDING ATTEMPT ON RUNWAY 4, THE SP INITIATED THE ROUND-OUT HIGH AND THEN RELAXED THE FLARE, ALLOWING THE AIRCRAFT TO SETTLE ONTO THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN WITH A MODERATE NOSE-UP ATTITUDE AND SUBSEQUENTLY BOUNCED. IN RESPONSE, THE IP CALLED FOR A GO-AROUND.

FULL POWER WAS APPLIED, AND THE FLAPS WERE RETRACTED TO A 50% SETTING. HOWEVER, AN EXCESSIVE NOSE-UP ATTITUDE DEVELOPED, RESULTING IN A POWER-ON STALL CONDITION. THE SP RELINQUISHED CONTROL TO THE IP, WHO ATTEMPTED TO ESTABLISH A PROPER CLIMB ATTITUDE. DESPITE THIS, THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED TO ROLL TO THE RIGHT. THE IP ATTEMPTED TO REGAIN DIRECTIONAL CONTROL BUT WAS UNSUCCESSFUL.

THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED OFF THE RUNWAY SURFACE, SHEARING THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR. IT CONTINUED VEERING TO THE RIGHT, ULTIMATELY DEPARTING THE RUNWAY INTO A SLOPED AREA WHERE IT STRUCK A TREE OR SHRUB.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
