## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JUNE 22, 2025, AT APPROXIMATELY 19:26 CDT, THE PIC OF ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, AN AIR TRACTOR AT-502B, DEPARTED THE MISSISSIPPI COUNTY AIRPORT (KCHQ), CHARLESTON, MO, WITH A FULL PAYLOAD OF DRY FERTILIZER. THE PIC FLEW TO THE INTENDED FIELD FOR APPLICATION LOCATED APPROXIMATELY 1 MILE WEST OF THE AIRPORT. THE PIC BEGAN A LOW-LEVEL RIGHT TURN TO THE EAST TO LINE UP TO CONDUCT A PASS OVER THE TARGET FIELD. THE AIRCRAFT OVERSHOT THE INTENDED HEADING, AND DURING THE RECOVERY, THE PIC TURNED LEFT. THE AIRCRAFT DESCENDED AND CONTACTED THE GROUND WITH THE LEFT WING. THE AIRCRAFT THEN ROTATED COUNTER-CLOCKWISE, AND CAME TO REST IN AN UPRIGHT PROFILE WITH THE ENGINE AND THE PROPELLER SEPARATING FROM THE AIRCRAFT DURING THE CRASH SEQUENCE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN25LA219](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN25LA219), Jun 23, 2025: Air Tractor AT-502B (N114WL), Charleston, MO, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s loss of control during the spray pass, which resulted in impact with vegetation and terrain.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
