## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 06-23-2025 AT APPROXIMATELY 10:00 AM, THE OPERATOR OF A HOMEBUILT KIT GYROCOPTER WAS FLYING INTO DILLANT-HOPKINS AIRPORT NEAR KEENE NEW HAMPSHIRE ON A LOW APPROACH TO RUNWAY 32 WITH THE INTENT OF GOING AROUND IN THE PATTERN AGAIN AND LANDING. AIRCRAFT LANDED IN THE GRASS AT THE END OF THE RUNWAY AND SUBSEQUENTLY ROLLED OVER CAUSING ROTOR AND PROPELLOR TO MAKE CONTACT WITH GROUND.

PILOT STATED THAT AT MID RUNWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 50 FEET AGL, HE RECOGNIZED THE AIRCRAFT WAS NOT CLIMBING DESPITE APPLYING FULL THROTTLE AND LOWERING THE PITCH ATTITUDE. PILOT BELEIVES EITHER A LACK OF POWER PRODUCTION FROM THE ENGINE OR HIS INNATENTION TO AIRSPEED CAUSED THE INABILITY TO CLIMB OUT. PILOT STATED THE AIRCRAFT HIT THE GROUND AT A RELATIVELY SLOW SPEED, BOUNCED AND THEN TURNED OVER. PILOT REPORTS NO INJURIES OTHER THAN MINOR BRUISING.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain rotor rpm of the gyroplane during a low approach, while distracted by other aircraft in the airport traffic pattern, which resulted in the pilot’s decision to perform…

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
