## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JULY 3, 2025, AT APPROXIMATELY 0957, A MOONEY M20K AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED A HARD LANDING WITH 3 PEOPLE ON BOARD AT KHND HENDERSON EXECUTIVE AIRPORT IN HENDERSON, NEVADA. ALL 3 OCCUPANTS EXITED THE AIRCRAFT UNDER THEIR OWN POWER AND SUSTAINED NO INJURIES. THE PILOT STATED THAT HE APPLIED A "SMALL AMOUNT OF POWER" JUST BEFORE TOUCHDOWN, WHICH CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO BOUNCE OFF THE RUNWAY AND MADE THE PILOT LOSE CONTROL AND HIT MULTIPLE SIGNS ON THE SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO A STOP ABOUT 100 FEET NORTH OF TAXIWAY E AND ABOUT 100 FEET WEST OF RUNWAY 35R

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR25LA202](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR25LA202), Jul 3, 2025: Mooney M20K (N66JG), Henderson, NV, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control during a go-around, resulting in a collision with a runway sign.

## Other reports on N66JG (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19860406018379I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19860406018379I), Apr 6, 1986: Mooney M20K (N66JG), Shoshone, CA, Minor damage. After climbing to VFR on top, aircraft encountered turbulence. Entered a spin with recovery and safe landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
