## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JULY 8, 2025, AT APPROXIMATELY 1810 CDT, AIRCRAFT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT WHILE BEING PREPARED FOR FLIGHT FROM ZUEHL AIRPORT (1TE4). PRIOR TO A REFUEL, THE PILOT-IN-COMMAND MANIPULATED THE POSITION OF THE PROPELLER, INDUCED ENGINE START, AND PROPELLER STUCK HIS RIGHT ARM. THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED TO CROSS THE RUNWAY AND CAME TO REST ON A LARGE METAL-FRAMED SIGN.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN25LA243](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN25LA243), Jul 8, 2025: Stinson 108 (N97577), Seguin, TX, no damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to turn off the magneto switch before repositioning the propeller by hand which resulted in an inadvertent engine start.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
