## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ATIS WAS REPORTING 12011-18KT. PILOT WAS LANDING RUNWAY 22 IN HOMER. PILOT WAS ACCOUNTING FOR THE CROSSWIND WITH PROPER INPUTS. AS THE PILOT TOUCHED THE UPWIND TIRE DOWN THERE WAS A GUST OF WIND THAT LIFTED THE WING UP SO QUICKLY THAT HIS AILERON INPUT WASN’T ENOUGH TO COUNTERACT IT. THE PLANE MADE A 3/4 LOOP TO THE RIGHT AND HIT THE LEFT WING ON THE GROUND AS IT TURNED. THERE WAS NO PROP STRIKE AND THE REST OF THE PLANE SEEMED TO BE OKAY. THE DOT ESCORTED THE AIRCRAFT BACK TO THE TAXIWAY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ANC25LA070](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ANC25LA070), Jul 9, 2025: Cessna 170B (N2694D), Homer, AK, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control during landing, which resulted in a ground loop.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
