## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE STUDENT PILOT WAS PERFORMING A SOLO FLIGHT IN A GYROCOPTER. DURING TAKEOFF ROTATION ROTOR SPEED WAS LOW AND PILOT INCREASED THROTTLE AND PITCHED THE AIRCRAFT UP. THE AIRCRAFT ROLLED RIGHT AND CAME DOWN ON THE RUNWAY CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE. MINOR INJURY TO PILOT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR25LA222](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR25LA222), Jul 14, 2025: Rotorsport UK Rotorsport UK Cavalon (N630JM), Hurricane, UT, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain pitch control during takeoff, which resulted in an unintended liftoff from the runway and a subsequent loss of control.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
