## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

INVESTIGATING ASI CONTACTED ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ OF THE AIRCRAFT INVOLVED IN THE WILDLIFE STRIKE REPORT OCCURRENCE. THE PILOT REPORTED TO ATC THAT HE HIT A COYOTE ON DEPARTURE FROM SALINE COUNTY AIRPORT (KSUZ). THE PILOT FLEW TO BILL AND HILLARY CLINTON AIRPORT (KLIT) TO HAVE ATC VERIFY HIS LANDING GEAR WAS OK, AND THE CONTROL TOWER SPOTTED NOTHING ABNORMAL. THE PILOT INSPECTED THE MAIN LANDING GEAR UPON LANDING, WHERE HE BELIEVED THE COYOTE HAD BEEN HIT, AND NO EVIDENCE OF THE ANIMAL WAS FOUND. THE PILOT INVOLVED IN THE WILDLIFE STRIKE AT SALINE COUNTY AIRPORT (KSUZ) FILED WILDLIFE STRIKE REPORT 20250716-0905020, AS REQUESTED BY THE AVIATION SAFETY INSPECTOR (ASI).

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19870306026149I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19870306026149I), Mar 6, 1987: Piper PA28180 (N9587J), Fort Collins, CO. The engine began running rough and the pilot safely landed after declaring an emergency. Exhaust valve head broken.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
