## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JULY 17, 2025, THE PILOT DEPARTED TO CONDUCT FLIGHT TESTING AS PART OF PHASE ONE FLIGHT TESTING. ON THE RETURN TO THE HOME AIRPORT, THE WINDS WERE REPORTED AT 320 AT 6KTS AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS ARRIVING ON RUNWAY 27. WHEN THE AIRCRAFT NOSEWHEEL TOUCHED DOWN, THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. THE NOSE GEAR BROKE OFF AND THE AIRCRAFT CAME UP ON THE RIGHT WING BEFORE SETTLING DOWN AGAIN.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN25LA258](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN25LA258), Jul 17, 2025: Zenith Stol CH701 (N237FC), Blaine, MN, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control while landing with a crosswind.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
