## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING CRUISE CREW REPORTED "GEN FAIL R" ON EICAS. 5 TO 10 MINUTES LATER IT WAS FOLLED BY "OIL LEVEL LOW R" ON EICAS. ABOUT 5 MINUTES LATER THE CAPTAIN NOTICED THE OIL PRESSURE STARTED TO DROP AND ITT STARTED TO INCREASE SO HE IMMEDIATELY SHUT THE RIGHT ENGINE DOWN IN FLIGHT TO PREVENT FURTHER DAMAGE. AIRCRAFT DIVERTED TO SMF AND LANDED SAFELY WITHOUT INCIDENT. INTITIAL INSPECTION FOUND THE RH DC GENERATOR SUFFERED CATASTROPHIC FAILURE WHICH RESULTED IN LOSS OF ENGINE OIL IN THE #2 ENGINE.

GENERATOR TSO 2152 HRS AND 57 MONTHS SINCE INSTALLED. DUE O/H AT 3000 HRS AND 60 MONTHS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
