## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON MONDAY JULY 21ST, 2025, AT APPROXIMATELY 1900 EST, A PIPER PA-28-181 WAS LEVEL IN CRUISE FLIGHT CLOSE TO KDMW. THE PILOT HEARD A LOUD NOISE AND FELT A JOLT IN THE AIRCRAFT. THE PILOT NOTICED A DROP IN RPM. THE PILOT THEN DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND ANNOUNCED A STRAIGHT-IN APPROACH TO RUNWAY 16 AT KDMW. AFTER SHUTTING DOWN THE ENGINE AND PERFORMING A POSTFLIGHT INSPECTION, THE PILOT DISCOVERED THAT THE SPINNER HAD DETACHED DURING FLIGHT. THE PILOT THEN NOTIFIED THE 141 SCHOOL MANAGER OF THE EVENTS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
