WHILE CONDUCTING AGRICULTURAL OPERATIONS, THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK A POWER TRANSMISION LINES WHILE ON A CLEAN UP PASS. ONE POWER LINE DAMAGED THE PROP, WINDSHIELD, AND LEFT WING LEADING EDGE RESULTING IN AN EMERGENCY LANDING IN A CORN FIELD. AS THE AIRPLANE ROLLED OUT TO A STOP, THE AIRCRAFT SLID TO THE LEFT DAMAGING THE MAIN LANDING GEAR, RIGHT WING, AND FOLDED THE REAR EMPENAGE. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO A REST APPROXIMATELY 0.5 NM WEST OF THE POINT OF WIRE IMPACT, AT A HEADING OF APPROXIMATELY 290.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN25LA274](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN25LA274), Jul 22, 2025: Air Tractor AT502 (N502KB), Hastings, NE, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain clearance from powerlines while maneuvering at low altitude.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
