## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOTS STATED HE WHEEL LANDED THE AIRCRAFT AND MAY HAVE BEEN TRAVELING A “LITTLE FAST”. HE BELIEVED HE ENCOUNTERED A WIND GUST AND THE AIRCRAFT VEERED TO THE LEFT. HE SUBSEQUENTLY LOST CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT. THE VISIBLE SKID MARKS ON THE RUNWAY INDICATE THE AIRCRAFT WAS SKIDDING ON THE RIGHT MAIN WHEEL WITH THE LEFT MAIN MAKING A SIGNIFICANCY SMALLER SKID MARK. THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR COLLAPSED WHEN IT REACHED THE EDGE OF THE RUNWAY AND CAUGHT THE GRASS. THE RIGHT WING STRUCK THE GROUND AND SUSTAINED SPAR DAMAGE. THERE IS EVIDENCE THE PROPELLER STRUCK THE GROUND AS THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST ALONG THE LEFT SIDE OF RUNWAY 14. FUEL BEGAN TO LEAK FROM THE AIRCRAFT AT A RELATIVELY HIGH RATE AND SATURATED THE GROUND IN THE VICINITY OF THE LEAK.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA25LA276](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA25LA276), Jul 22, 2025: Howard DGA-15P (N67722), Farmingdale, NY, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control of the airplane while landing in a crosswind.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
