## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

FAA INSPECTORS ARRIVED ON SCENE AND FOUND THE AIRCRAFT IN A CORNFIELD APPROXIMATELY 50 YARDS FROM THE SOUTH EDGE OF THAT FIELD. REPORTEDLY, THE AIRCRAFT WAS SPRAYING CORN FUNGICIDE ONTO THE FIELD THE AIRCRAFT CRASHED INTO. DUE TO THE PILOT NOT HAVING ANY RECOLATION OF THE EVENT, IT IS ASSUMED, THAT WHILE MANUVERING FOR ANOTHER PASS OF THE FIELD, THE LANDING GEAR CAUGHT THE UPPER TWO WIRES (GROUND WIRES) OF HIGH TENSION POWERLINES WHICH WERE LOCATED APPROXIMATELY 350 YARDS WEST OF WHERE THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST. IT APPEARED THE AIRCRAFT STRETCHED THE GROUND WIRES DOWN TO THE GROUND WHERE THE RIGHT LANDING GEAR WAS TORN FROM THE AIRCRAFT. THE AIRCRAFT SLID APPROXIMATELY 50 YARDS BEYOND THE POINT OF IMPACT BEFORE COMING TO REST ON A HEADING OF APPROXIMATELY 090 DEGREES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN25LA276](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN25LA276), Jul 22, 2025: Air Tractor AT-402A (N1534D), Centralia, MO, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain clearance from power lines during low-level maneuvering.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
