## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PIC WAS PERFORMING AERIAL APPLICATION OVER A CORN FIELD. HE STATED HE HAD MADE SEVERAL APPLICATION PASSES, NOTING NO MECHANICAL ISSUES. THE PILOT SAID HE WAS FOLLOWING HIS GPS PASS LINE AND GOT CLOSE TO A TREE, BUT THOUGHT THE AIRCRAFT HAD ADEQUATE CLEARANCE. THE LEFT WINGTIP STRUCK THE TREE, CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO LOSE CONTROL, CRASH LEFT WING AND NOSE DOWN AND SLIDE APPROXIMATELY 200 FEET INTO THE CORN FIELD. THROUGHOUT THE SLIDE THE WINGS DETACHED AND THE ENGINE SEPARATED FROM THE MOUNT, COMING TO REST BESIDE THE FUSELAGE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN25LA286](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN25LA286), Jul 23, 2025: Weatherly 620B (N2032J), Rushmore, MN, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain clearance from a tree during low-level maneuvering.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
