## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THIS REPORT WAS DELAYED DUE TO REQUESTED ON-SITE INSPECTION ON BROOKINGS AIRFIELD. UPON INITIAL INSPECTION BY MANUFACTURE REPRESENTATIVES THERE WAS NO ISSUE OR CONCERN FOUND. IT WAS THEN DECIDED TO RUN THE AIRCRAFT TO DETERMINE SERVICEABILITY. DURING THE RUN THE AIRCRAFT START, IDLE AND POWER RUNS WERE NOTED TO BE SATISFACTORY. THERE WAS NOTHING NOTED THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED THIS LOSS OF POWER DURING CLIMB-OUT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN25LA288](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN25LA288), Jul 26, 2025: Piper PA-28RT-201T (N8423H), Brookings, SD, substantial damage, investigation ongoing

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
