## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT WAS DEPARTING SOUTH ON RUNWAY 17. PILOT STATED AIRCRAFT REQUIRED LEFT AILERON INPUT TO KEEP ON RUNWAY. PILOT STATED AIRCRAFT WAS HIT WITH A WIND GUST FROM THE LEFT FORCING THE RIGHT WING TO DROP CONTACTING THE TURF AND SKEWING THE AIRCRAFT TO THE RIGHT WHERE THE AIRCRAFT THEN DEPARTED THE ELEVATED RUNWAY AND RAN INTO LOWER TERRAIN, SHEARING THE RIGHT GEAR AND CAUSING A NOSE OVER PROP STRIKE AND DAMAGE TO RIGHT WING AND FUSELAGE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR25LA235](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR25LA235), Aug 1, 2025: Cessna 180J (N52175), Kamiah, ID, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s loss of airplane control following an encounter with a microburst during takeoff.

## Other reports on N52175 (1)

- [Accident 19790719015449A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19790719015449A), Jul 19, 1979: Cessna 180 (N52175), Quail Creek, AK, Substantial damage. Allowed aircraft to drift to left edge of runway on final. Dragged wing tip in brush.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
