## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRCRAFT WAS ON APPROACH FOR LANDING ON THE SOUTH END OF GREEN LAKE ABOUT 7 MILES NORTH-NORTHWEST OF ELLSWORTH, MAINE. THE PILOT REPORTED THAT THE APPROACH AND LANDING WERE NORMAL, HOWEVER AS THEY SLOWED TO “ABOUT 5 KNOTS” THE AIRCRAFT SUDDENLY PITCHED FORWARD AND COMPLETELY FLIPPED OVER. WHEN THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST, ONLY THE FLOATS REMAINED ABOVE THE WATER SURFACE. THE PILOT AND SINGLE PASSENGER WERE ABLE TO EXIT THE AIRCRAFT AND HAILED A BOAT TO BRING THEM ASHORE. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. EXAMINATION OF THE AIRCRAFT NOTED EXTENSIVE DAMAGE DUE TO RECOVERY EFFORTS.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)
