## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE INCIDENT AIRCRAFT, A SPECIAL LIGHT SPORT AIRCRAFT (SLSA), WAS IN CRUISE FLIGHT AT 3,000 FEET AGL WHEN SUDDENLY, THE PRIMARY WINDSCREEN FAILED. THIS CAUSED A WINDBLAST INTO THE COCKPIT, WHICH SUBSEQUENTLY CAUSED THE ENTRY DOORS TO BREAK AND BLOW OUTWARD DUE TO THE OVERPRESSURE OF THE WIND ENTERING THE COCKPIT. A VIDEO WAS PROVIDED BY THE PILOT-IN-COMMAND (PIC), SHOWING NO FOREIGN OBJECT STRIKING THE WINDSCREEN. THE PIC RESPONDED EFFECTIVELY BY ESTABLISHING A DECENDING GLIDE AND EXECUTING AN EMERGENCY LANDING IN A GRASS FIELD WITHOUT INCIDENT. NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED. THE DAMAGE SUSTAINED TO THE AIRCRAFT IN THIS INCIDENT WAS A BROKEN PRIMARY WINDSCREEN, LEFT AND RIGHT DOOR WINDOWS AND FRAMES BROKEN, LEFT AND RIGHT-WING ROOT FAIRING DAMAGE, AND A SMALL PUNCTURE IN THE LEFT FLAPERON. THE AIRCRAFT WAS RELEASED TO THE OWNER FOR REPAIRS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
