## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING LANDING TOUCHDOWN AND ROLLOUT THE AIRCRAFT VEERED TO THE LEFT AND DEPARTED THE RUNWAY SURFACE. THE RIGHT WING, RIGHT AILERON, NOSE COWLING, AND PROPELLER RECEIVED DAMAGE DUE TO CONTACTING THE DIRT AFTER RUNNING OFF THE LEFT EDGE OF THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT WAS RECOVERED FROM THE DIRT AREA AND PARKED IN A HANGAR.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA25LA317](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA25LA317), Aug 25, 2025: Cessna 170B (N4584C), Knoxville, TN, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control during landing roll in a crosswind, which resulted in a runway excursion and a subsequent ground loop.

## Other reports on N4584C (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19790611015109I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19790611015109I), Jun 11, 1979: Cessna 421 (N4584C), Austin, TX, Minor damage. Engine burst into flames. Landed safely. Flex hose, PNS5027 6 0164 had ruptured.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
