## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON AUGUST 28TH, 2025 (2030L), JETBLUE FLIGHT 31 DEPARTED BOSTON LOGAN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (BOS) TO AMSTERDAM INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (AMS). AS THE AIRCRAFT TOOK OFF AND DURING ROTATION A MEDIUM-SIZED BIRD STRUCK THE CAPTAIN'S WINDSHIELD. ONCE THE AIRCRAFT WAS IN LEVEL FLIGHT, ALL THREE PILOTS EXAMINED THE WINDSHIELD AND DETERMINED THAT THE INTEGRITY OF THE WINDSHIELD WAS IN QUESTION. AFTER CONFERRING WITH MAINTENANCE, IT WAS DETERMINED CONTINUED FLIGHT ACROSS THE ATLANTIC WAS NOT ADVISABLE. THE AIRCRAFT DIVERTED AND LANDED BACK AT BOSTON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
