## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON THE CLIMB OUT OF ATL THE FLIGHT CREW ADVISED DISPATCH THAT THERE WAS SMOKE DETECTED COMING FROM THE GALLEY OVEN - THERE WAS NO FIRE. THE FA PULLED THE CB AND FLIGHT STARTED TO HEAD BACK TO ATL. AFTER THE CB WAS PULLED - THE SMOKE SLOWLY GOT BETTER. INITIALLY THEY DECLARED A PAN PAN BUT THAT WAS LATER UPGRADED TO MAYDAY. THE FLIGHT RETURNED TO ATL AND LANDED WITHOUT ANY FURTHER ISSUE.

AUG 29/2025 AFTER LANDING THE OVEN WAS INSPECTED; LIQUID AND BURNT MATERIAL WAS NOTED INSIDE THE OVEN. THE OVEN WAS DEFERRED; CIRCUIT BREAKERS WERE PULLED AND COLLARED. SEPT 2/2025 THE OVEN WAS REPLACED. AN OPERATIONAL CHECK WAS CARRIED OUT WITH NO FAULTS FOUND. THE AIRCRAFT WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE. NO REOCCURRENCE HAS BEEN NOTED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
