## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT WAS ON A PART 91 FLIGHT, OPERATING UNDER VMC, AND HAD JUST LANDED ON THE POST OAK HOTEL ROOFTOP HELIPAD IN HOUSTON, TEXAS. ALL SYSTEMS WERE ON AND THE AIRCRFAFT WAS RUNNING. NUMEROUS WARNINGS CAME UP ON THE SYSTEMS PANEL AND THE CREW NOTICED A SMOKE ODOR IN THE AIRCRFAFT. THE AIRCRAFT WAS SHUT DOWN, THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM TURNED OFF AND ALL EXITED THE AIRCRAFT WITHOUT INCIDENT. RESIDUAL SMOKE WAS NOTICED COMING OUT OF A LOWER PANEL ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE FUSELAGE JUST FORWARD OF THE RETRACTABLE CABIN STEP. THE BATTERY WAS REMOVED FROM THE AIRCRAFT AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS TIED DOWN AND SECURED ON THE HELIPAD FOR FURTHER INSPECTION. MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL ARRIVED AND ACCESSED THE AREA IN QUESTION. SEVERAL BURNED WIRES WERE FOUND IN THE BAY JUST FORWARD OF THE STEP, CAUSE IS STILL UNDER INVESTIGATION BY MANUFACTURER.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
