## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON SEPTEMBER 2, 2025 AT APPROXIMATELY 1146 EASTERN TIME AIRCRAFT LANDED DANBURY MUNICIPAL AIRPORT ON RUNWAY 8. ON ROLL OUT AIRCRAFT VEERED OFF LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY, CAUSING THE LOWER LEFT WING TIP TO CONTACT THE GROUND. THIS GROUND CONTACT RESULTED IN A MAJOR REPAIR OF THE LOWER WING TIP AND AILERON. PIC STATED THE AIRCRAFT SUDDENLY TURNED DUE TO A TAIL WHEEL ISSUE. CERTIFICATED MECHANIC INSPECTED TAIL WHEEL AND CONFIRMED THERE WAS NO ISSUE WITH THE TAILWHEEL AND OPERATED AS EXPECTED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA25LA381](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA25LA381), Sep 2, 2025: Pitts S-1T (N742MA), Danbury, CT, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control during the landing rollout, which resulted in a ground loop.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
