## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

A CONVERSATION WITH THE PILOT ON 12/8/2025, INDICATED THE AIRCRAFT WAS OPERATING NORMALLY. TAXI AND RUNUP WERE NORMAL. THE TAKEOFF TO THE SOUTH (R16) WAS NORMAL. THE PILOT DID STATE THAT HE CONTINUED THE TAKEOFF ROLL LONGER THAN NORMAL, EVEN THOUGH THE WIND AS HE STATED WAS A DIRECT CROSSWIND FROM THE WEST. DURING CLIMOUT HE NOTICED THE PLANE ONLY CLIMBING AT ABOUT 300 FPM. HE STATED THE NORMAL CLIB RATE WAS NOTED DURING PREVIOUS FLIGHTS AT AROUND 500-700 FPM. HE FELT THAT THE SLOWER RATE OF CLIMB THAT HE WOULD NOT CLEAR THE POWER LINES OR THE TREES THAT ARE SOUTH AND WEST OF THE AIRPORT. THEREFORE, HE ELECTED TO MAKE AN EMERGENCY, OFF AIRPORT LANDING. THE MOST SUITABLE LOCATION THAT HE FELT WAS AVAILABLE, WAS A SMALL SECTION OF GROUND THAT WAS JUST NORTH OF HIGHWAY 6 AND EAST OF THE CHEHALIS RIVER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR25LA308](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR25LA308), Sep 11, 2025: Thomas Graham Teenie Two (N311TS), Chehalis, WA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's improper decision to take off with the airplane over its maximum allowable gross weight, which degraded its climb performance and led to a subsequent off airport landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
