## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT DEPARTED TOLEDO, WA AIRPORT 09/18/2025. THE PILOT ENCOUNTERED CROSSWINDS DURING TAKEOFF FROM THE NORTH. THE PILOT LOSS CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT WHEN THE RIGHT WING SUDDENLY LIFTED UP ABOUT 30 DEGREES AND THE NOSE PITCHED UP. THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED SEVERAL TIMES AND STRUCK THE RUNWAY PROPELLER FIRST WHICH CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO SPIN AROUND AND EXIT THE RUNWAY AND STRIKE THE VEGETATION TO THE EAST. THE AIRCRAFT ALSO CAME DOWN GEAR UP. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE WINGS, FUSELAGE, ENGINE/PROP, ELEVATORS, AND AILERONS. DURING THE INVESTIGATION IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE PILOT HAD NO CURRENT FLIGHT REVIEW. IN ADDITION, THE AIRCRAFT DID NOT HAVE A CURRENT ANNUAL MAINTENANCE INSPECTION, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE ALL THE AIRCRAFT/PILOT RECORDS TO INVESTIGATORS TO INCLUDE AN AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVES LIST, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS DOING AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE WITHOUT A MECHANIC CERTIFICATE, PERFORMING MAINTENANCE WITHOUT HAVING IT RETURNED TO SERVICE BY A CERTIFICATED MECHANIC, OPERATING AN UNAIRWORTHY AIRCRAFT (NO STC FOR ENGINE & PROPELLER INSTALLED), NO AIRCRAFT ID DATA PLATE, AND CARELESS OR RECKLESS OPERATION OF AN AIRCRAFT. THESE FINDINGS REQUIRE MANDATORY ENFORCEMENT ACTION.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR25LA306](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR25LA306), Sep 18, 2025: Temco GC-1B (N78316), Toledo, WA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain control of the airplane during takeoff in crosswind conditions..

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
